In the “Things I wish were in Windows Mobile” category… I just installed Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 on a friend’s Acer Travelmate C110. The new handwritting recognition features are really excellent. The input panel is even context sensitive meaning that if you tap your cursor into a field that is supposed to contain phone numbers, it will recognize your writting as such. Same for address fields like state and zip code. Even a URL field has context sensitive recognition that’s actually based on your browsing history.
Take a look at this video presentation about some of the new features in Tablet PC 2005. Be sure to check out the recognition editing capabilities. Very slick!
