According to CNET, the Apple iTunes music service has reached an all-time-high of selling 1.25 million songs per day. Their current total has reached over 250 million downloads.
That sounds like alot and it’s great that the online music service market is a success, but who is actually buying these songs? I find it odd that no one I know has ever bought a song from iTunes, and very few have ever heard of anyone else buying them… that includes Macintosh users, Windows users, Unix users, and non-technical people in their late 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s. Is it mostly the younger people that are spending all this money? Do older people use less limiting music stores because of the increased quality and tangible media?
