Remove the Custom Phone Skin in Windows Mobile 6

If you’ve got one of the new Windows Mobile 6 Professional devices that has a custom phone skin (such as the T-Mobile Wing), you may or may not be missing some nice features included in the default phone application.

To disable the custom phone skin, use a Registry editor and edit the following:

HKLMSecurityPhoneSkinEnabled = 0 (DWORD decimal)

You can restore the custom phone skin by changing it back to:

HKLMSecurityPhoneSkinEnabled = 1 (DWORD decimal)
