After Ray and I saw the initial demo of Microsoft’s Sync in-car computer, we decided to get it connected to my HTC TyTN II.
The TyTN II paired perfectly, and the Sync system offered both headset and wireless stereo profiles to us. When pairing, the Sync system also asked if we wanted to download my contacts, call history, and text messages. As you can see in the video, the A2DP wireless stereo music playing worked great.
Our Ford Sync representative noted that some people were frustrated that the Sync system wouldn’t work with their iPhones. This is probably due to Apple’s tendency to not retain backwards compatibility with accessories. Plus, the iPhone doesn’t have streaming stereo Bluetooth audio anyway. The good news is that just about all other music phones do (including Windows Mobile and Symbian smartphones) and thus will very likely work with the in-car Sync system.
