Street View Photos Coming to Google Maps

As posted by the unwired, Google has released new Google Maps Blackberry and Java clients that support walking directions as well as street view. If you’re familiar with Google Maps’ Street View on the desktop, this let’s you select a point on certain streets and see photos of the surrounding area as if you were actually standing on that street and looking around.

While, the Google Mobile Blog also tells us that the new Google Maps 2.3 versions is available for Blackberry and Java enabled phones, visiting www.google.com/gmm on a Blackberry 8820 only shows version 2.1.0.11 available. The Google Updater only seems to have version 2.2 available.

At any rate, it is also mentioned that a Windows Mobile version should be coming soon.
