BuyMusic.com off to a rocky start.

Buy.com last week released their answer to Apple’s iTunes Music Store called BuyMusic.com. The service allows you to purchase songs in Windows Media format at low cost.

“But in an example of the technological trickiness involved in offering users the freedom they desire while giving music labels the protections they demand, early customers have found they can’t transfer the tunes they buy on BuyMusic.com to digital portables.” – USA Today

Here’s another user’s bad experience with BuyMusic.com. It seems she’s had problems with burning the audio to a CD as well.

Has anyone else tried this yet with success? It sounds like it requires Windows Media Player 9. No word as to if these will work on Pocket PC 2002 or Windows Mobile 2003.
