Last night at a press event in New York City, Vin Rock and I got to preview a bunch of new Microsoft products coming out this year, including some new builds of Windows Phone 7. Being that we’re both fairly well-known celebrities, we got to go in early and check things out while everyone else stood outside in the muggy heat. Take a look at some of our video footage below. There were a couple …

The Problem with Android: Its Users
Chris Pirillo has written an article which can pretty easily be considered flame bait for the Android community. What I find interesting are his points about usability and how Android users defend their choice of operating system. What’s most interesting is how these things compare to the Windows Mobile issues of 2007. Back in 2007, when the first iPhone came out, Windows Mobile was clearly superior in terms of functionality, customizability, and even the number …

Orange has started HD Voice Trials in the UK. The video below illustrates the difference in quality between regular voice audio as you might hear it now, to the high definition voice quality that’s currently being implemented. Oddly, the second half of the video becomes silent during the interviews, so I’m not sure what kind of HD voice recording capabilities were happening there nor do I know what was being said. Over at Malaysia Asia, we see David Jr. has been doing some travelling using his HTC HD2 as a camera. We’ve been very impressed with the camera phone quality and speed of the HD2, so if you don’t feel like carrying a real camera around, the HD2 seems to be a great photo companion. Continue readingWindows Embedded Handheld: Now We Mean Business
Microsoft just keeps on cranking out mobile device operating systems. So far this year we’ve got the new Windows Mobile 6.5.3 (Professional & Standard Editions), Windows Phone 7, Windows Embedded Compact 7, KIN, and now Windows Embedded Handheld with Windows Embedded Handheld 7 coming next year. As you saw here earlier this week, it was unclear as to wether Windows Phone 7 means business or does not mean business. Microsoft must have read those articles …
