In the discussion of my review of the Bluetooth 56K Modem, I had another idea…
Wouldn’t it be cool if you had a Bluetooth Answering Machine plugged into your home landline… it would record voicemail messages in it’s internal memory or whatnot… but as soon as you got home, your Pocket PC would connect to the answering machine via Bluetooth and the number of voicemail messages for your selected mailbox would pop-up on your screen along with the date/time/callerID. You tap on the one you want to hear and the answering machine plays the message on it’s external speaker.
Maybe it also includes a headset voice profile so that while your PDA is connected to the landline answering machine, you are able to make/recieve phone calls through the PDA. Combine that with a Phone Edition device, and you’ve got both a mobile phone and landline phone!
Of course this device would also need to include Dial Up Network and FAX profiles such that you could dial-out to the internet.
Plug it in at the Hotel and your PDA can dial out to the internet and still make/recieve phone calls using the hotel phone line, or your mobile phone built into the PDA!
