It’s Called a Windows Phone 7

People have been struggling with Windows Phone 7’s new name ever since it was announced as Windows Phone 7 Series. Luckily Microsoft simplified the name a bit, but still… What are you supposed to call these devices? Is it a Windows Phone 7 phone? A Windows Phone 7 device?

If you saw this video, you may have noticed how the narrator refers to a Windows Phone 7 phone. She says, “All you need is a Windows Phone 7.” I’ve been referring to the devices in this manner here on pocketnow for a little while just to see if anyone noticed, but now it seems we have the definitive answer on just how we’re supposed to refer to these things.

Granted, it sounds kind of strange saying something like, “How many Windows Phone 7s have you got?” or “I just got my awesome new Windows Phone 7.” but there’s no reason that Microsoft can’t innovate when it comes to naming products, is there? Actually, referring to devices like this sounds almost as strange as putting a lowercase letter “i” in front of every product name.

Now go get yourself into the comments below and practice writing some interesting sentences that refer to Windows Phone 7s so you can see how it feels.
