While the international version of the Nokia Lumia 925 has been available for a little while, a slightly different version made for T-Mobile in the USA was just released yesterday. Currently it’s only available in the white color with 16Gb of storage, but it has a few advantages over the international version which are mainly related to the T-Mobile USA network. It supports T-Mobile’s new LTE network as well as their 4G HSPA and 2G networks. It also has HD voice calling (which is only an advantage when calling some one else with HD calling support.) It also has WiFi calling which can be extremely advantageous if you’re in an area where T-Mobile’s network has very poor reception, but you can access any WiFi network with internet access. Yes, you can be in a basement bunker and still receive calls as long as you’re connected to a WiFi access point.
Check out our unboxing video below to see what comes with the new T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 925 as well as a few of the bundled apps that are included in T-Mobile’s version. The Lumia 925 is available from T-Mobile for $529 with no contract and of course you can pay for it in monthly installments if you want. It’s also available from the Microsoft Store, but the price there is labeled as $699 with no contract, however there’s a good chance that if you walk into a brick & mortar Microsoft Store, they might price-match the T-Mobile store’s price for you.
