Over 300,000 Windows Phone 7 Dev Tools Downloaded
August is the 6 month anniversary of Microsoft’s announcement of Windows Phone 7 and since the first beta of the developer tools were released, there have been over 300,000 downloads of the software. How many of those downloads will translate into apps in the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace remains to be seen, but considering most of those people probably intended to at least learn how to make apps for Windows Phone 7, I’m thinking you …
Continue readingEditorial: Why I’m Using the HTC HD2 as My Daily Driver
Brandon, Geoffrey and Joe recently wrote some good articles about why they’re using a specific phone as their daily drivers today. Now it’s my turn. Here’s a quick look at my daily drivers over the years. This list does not include phones that I’ve only used for a couple months. 1. 1999: Uniden UniPro PC100 (Built in modem, CF slot, folding cradle, DTMF dialing) 2. 2000: Compaq iPaq H3600 (w/ OmniSky 1G wireless internet) 3. …

Check out a couple videos taken …

Windows Phone 7 Program Manager, Sean Mckenna, recently gave Channel 9 a demo of some Windows Phone 7 applications that Microsoft has created in order to show some of the things developers can do. The source code for these apps will be made available so that you can learn how to implement some of the features in your own programs. The cloud based translation software with on-device caching sounds very useful, and I hope all …
Continue readingBlackBerry Torch Unboxing
We just recieved a box from BlackBerry. Guess what we’re going to do with it. Yep, it’s another unboxing. This time, it’s the new BlackBerry Torch, which is supposed to be the “best BlackBerry ever.” We’ll see about that, but in the meantime, check out what’s in the box. You get all the usual suspects including stereo headphones, micro-USB cable, and even a screen cleaner cloth. Unfortunately there’s no included case, but I really like …
