An Easier Text Message with Windows Mobile Smartphone
With Pocket PC phones, normally you would go to the Messaging application when you want to send a text message or email since typing some one’s name in the “To” field quickly brings up the possible matches. On Windows Mobile Smartphones, that’s not so easy especially if you have to type those names with a numeric keypad. Instead, use the phone dialer from the home screen to find the contact you want to send a …

INTRODUCTION The Qtek 8500 is another branding of the first flip phone made by HTC codenamed the HTC StrTrk or Star Trek or Star100 depending on who you ask. You’ll find the same phone available as the i-mate Smartflip and Dopod S300 at this time, but it’s sure to be re-branded when picked up by other mobile carriers. Continue readingWindows Mobile Smartphone Copy and Pasting
You can’t do it! I’ve been using the new Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone Edition with my Qtek 8500 for a couple weeks now. I was just wondering how I would use my Invisio headset on the motorcycle with this new HTC Star Trek phone which doesn’t have an audio jack. Thank you Nextlink! Anyway, this headset will pick up your voice through …
Continue readingMicrosoft Planning WiFi-Enabled Portable Media Player, Working on MVNO
Wow, listen to this news from Engadget! Here’s what we’ve learned: Microsoft’s new portable audio and video player will have a screen that’s “bigger than that of the iPod video” (which isn’t really saying much) and built-in WiFi so you can not only download content directly to the player (sort of like with the MusicGremlin), but actually participate in an Xbox Live-like social network that will help you connect with other people with similar taste …
Continue readingPotential Palm “Lennon” and “Nitro” Pictures Appear
Here’s one for the rumor mill. A photo of possible future versions of the Palm Treo has surfaced. Both are GSM versions that lack an external stubby antenna, while one runs Windows Mobile and the other runs Palm OS. The “Lennon” running Windows Mobile is expected to have UMTS 3G internet access, Class 10 EDGE, 1.3Mp Camera, and built in WiFi. Both are rumored to be available on Cingular in October.
