Why is there so much hype about a Video iPod? Us Windows Mobile users have had this functionality for years. I’m seeing these news reports speculating about all the cool things that may be coming in the future from Apple.. like a portable media player that syncs your videos… a media computer where you can rent, buy and watch movies… and the capability to stream media to other devices in the home. But what’s the big deal? We’ve already got that with Windows Mobile and Windows Media Center! Cinemanow.com and Movielink already offer seamless integration with a Media Center PC and Windows mobile portable media players. When Apple enters the portable media and media center markets, what will that mean? They’ll likely do so with new formats not compatible with all the existing media players, media centers, and video services. Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?
