Yahoo! has just released their own music download service to compete with iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, etc. The service offers downloadable songs at 79 cents each, which is 9 cents lower than the previous price-champ Walmart. Yahoo is also offering a Music Unlimited for a quite-affordable $59.88 per year. That’s less expensive than sattelite radio, and you get to choose the music! The Music Unlimited service is compatible with any “Plays for Sure” device, which includes Windows Mobile devices with Windows Media Player 10 installed.
On the down side, it looks like you have to download a propietary “Yahoo! Music Engine” to access the service. I don’t see why it can’t just be available through Windows Media Player 10 like all the others are.
